I have had the honor of doing henna art for the past 35 years. It truly is a passion that I love and enjoy! Being able to be a part of such special occasions and seeing happy customers is one of my favorite parts of my job. I specialize in Traditional, Arabic, Pakistani and Indian mehndi designs.
I have been applying Mehndi (Henna) tattoos for over 25 years! I started at a very young age back in Pakistan out of genuine curiosity and interest. My first bride was my sister; back when she got married, Mehndi used to be applied by dipping a thin needle into it. Now there are cones of course, but I love looking back at where I started from! I have an honest passion for what I do. I enjoy it. I love meeting new people and seeing happy customers. This passion is what dedicates me to always do my best and always growing! My love for what I do transfers into my work and into each experience/person I encounter, and for that, I am so thankful! I do Henna for weddings, birthdays, bridal showers, baby showers, private events, and much more! You can learn more about my story through Shoutout DFW.
I buy Henna from different suppliers, sometimes from London - Bharti Shanghai - and sometimes from India.
I make my own Henna sometimes as well. I use organic henna powder, Cajeput oil, Tea-tree oil, eucalyptus oil, lavender oil, lemon juice and sugar. I use different organic essential oils depending on the weather and the bride's skin.
The bride should get her manicure, pedicure, and waxing one or two days before her mehndi. Also, she should do her makeup, hair, and have her dress on before mehndi will start. I recommend getting the bride done before the guest or family henna event starts.
When my brides book me, I ask them to send me designs a couple of weeks before their appointment, so I have enough time to practice. Also, I send a reminder if don’t receive it before 2 weeks.
I specialize in traditional henna, but I do all kinds of designs.
Most of my clients book me a year ahead, or at least 6 months. Some call me a couple of months before the wedding, if I am available, I take the appointment.
It depends. For example, if a party has 25 ladies and they each want 2 hands with simple designs, 2 artists are enough for 3 hours.
They can message me through The Desi Bride, check out my Instagram or Facebook page: @meenasmehndi, or contact me via cell: 469-360-9954
If clients change the date and inform me ahead of time and I am available, I change the appointment or try to adjust my schedule. If something critical happens and they need to cancel, I return the deposit. However, if they want to cancel an appointment without a valid reason, then it’s nonrefundable.
