As a professional makeup artist, Jasmin has worked in practically every corner of the beauty industry. Tell us about your story into bridal hair / makeup?

I fell into doing makeup while in college, pretty accidentally. During an interview at Macy's I was asked what I liked and I said makeup, thinking nothing of it. Back then we didn't have YouTube or social media really, I just figured that was a straightforward answer. I landed a job in the cosmetics department and from there I launched my business!


Tell us about your experience with Indian brides.

What I love about my brides, are the stories, traditions, and vision I get to bring to life. I love seeing how the trends have evolved since I began my career and the creativity my brides have with their visions. My very first desi bride was my aunt when I was just 16 years old! I love being able to travel to my brides and work with them to help them truly feel like a bride. 


Are you able to provide saree draping or dupatta draping?

Yes, for brides this is a service I offer only when the bride has booked hair and makeup with me. 


What types of makeup do you specialize in e.g., airbrush, HD etc.?

I specialize in manual makeup application that is long-lasting and camera-friendly! I do many creative shoots as well which require photogenic makeup and different technologies to ensure my clients look their best!


How do you stay on top of trends in the industry?

I make it a point to attend or study all of the fashion week and celebrity trends continuously. If there is a trend I am not well versed in. I seek education and find ways to put my own spin on it to customize these trends for my clients.


Do you provide trial runs? If so, what are the costs for these trials?

Only for brides, they cost $450-$550 depending on location and are a stand-alone service. This is where we not only review the bride's looks, but I assess their hair and skin condition, practice their drape, and more! I do a full run-through of their wedding look and do a preview of the reception look, we also consult on any other events that could be upcoming. I however do not perform trials on days where brides have other events or photoshoots. This is due to the fact that they will not be leaving camera-ready due to all of the changes that happen during the trial, such as trying different lip colors and eye colors. 


What should a bride know before reaching out to you?

I ask that inquiries have as much detail as possible to help me efficiently quote brides as well as provide a schedule for their timeline to keep in consideration while planning. This is crucial as I want to ensure every bride gets the most attention to detail while working with a hectic schedule. It's important that we are on the same page with expectations!


Do you offer packages that include additional guests, like the mother or bridesmaids?

No for weddings I only service brides in Texas.


After a bride books with you, what does the process look like (e.g., skincare guidance, trial etc)?

All brides receive a welcome email with a prep sheet that includes guidelines. If a bride would like further guidance, we normally review this during the trial when I can assess their skin and hair and make recommendations as needed!


What other services do you offer?

Due to COVID I also offer virtual consultations for clients who are unable to do an in-person trial. 


How far in advance should clients reach out to you?

As soon as you have booked your venue, hotel and have an idea of your run of the day. We need to know your schedule to be able to schedule our services around your day.


What is the maximum distance you’re able to travel up to for an event? What is your policy for this, if any?

I can travel anywhere in the world, however appropriate fees such as gas mileage, flights, transportation, parking, hotel accommodations, etc will apply. I require all brides to book me a room at their same hotel for efficiency for their early morning starts and for multiple look changes. 


What is your cancellation / delay policy?

All deposits paid are non-refundable. Should a bride have to cancel or delay their wedding, the deposit can be applied to their new date within 2 years of the original date.

Where are you located/based?

Houston, Texas, however I still service the NJ/Philadelphia area!
